Headlight Restoration
Restore Cloudy and Yellowed Headlights
Headlight lenses can become hazy, yellow, or dull as their protective surface deteriorates from sunlight, weather, road debris, and repeated washing. Restoration removes the damaged outer layer and refines the lens to improve its clarity and appearance.
What the Restoration Process Involves
- Inspection: The lenses are checked for oxidation, scratches, cracks, moisture, and damage inside the headlight assembly.
- Surface preparation: The surrounding paint and trim are protected before the lens is cleaned.
- Oxidation removal: The deteriorated surface is carefully leveled using progressively finer abrasives.
- Polishing: The lens is refined to reduce sanding marks and restore transparency.
- Protection: A suitable UV-resistant protective layer is applied to slow renewed oxidation.

When Restoration May Not Be Enough
Restoration primarily corrects deterioration on the outside of a plastic lens. It may not resolve deep cracks, severe pitting, internal condensation, damaged reflectors, failed bulbs, wiring faults, or clouding inside the assembly. These conditions may require repair or replacement.
Maintaining Restored Headlights
Use gentle washing methods, avoid harsh household cleaners, and maintain the protective surface as recommended for the product applied. Parking under cover when practical can also reduce ongoing ultraviolet exposure. Because protection gradually wears, periodic inspection and maintenance may be needed.
